David Dessen was awarded his J.D. degree from the Temple University School of Law in 1973 and a Master’s Degree in trial advocacy from the same institution in 1994. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, every federal district court in Pennsylvania, the Courts of Appeal for the Third and DC circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
David is passionate about litigating cases and satisfying his clients. He has litigated thousands of complex cases in both state and federal court during the almost 40 years he has practiced law. For every case he handles, David thoroughly investigates the facts, extensively researches the law and formulates a theory most likely to achieve his client’s goals. Among his many cases, that attention to detail enabled him to convince a jury, based on some unusual facts in the case, to render a verdict for over $600,000 in favor of his client, a psychologist who came to him seeking to recover about $2,400 in unpaid bills from an automobile insurance company. In 2001, in the defense of a False Claims Act lawsuit for over $400,000 brought by the federal government against the owners of a small ambulance service for allegedly fraudulent Medicare billings, he discovered facts that formed the basis of a lawsuit against the Medicare Carrier that ultimately convinced the Government to withdraw its False Claims lawsuit and to pay his clients over $100,000 previously withheld by the Carrier.
